HEPOS REAL-TIME SERVICES
HEPOS real-time services can provide high accuracy positioning. A user can determine the coordinates of a point at the time of the measurement, by using only one geodetic GPS/GNSS receiver. That means that there is no need for data post-processing in the office, like in the case of the ‘Post-processing’ services.
HEPOS real-time services can be used for measuring using the following GPS-techniques:
- Single-Base RTK
- Network RTK (τεχνικές VRS, FKP, MAC)
- Single-Base DGPS
- Network DGPS
When using the HEPOS real time services, the user receives reference station data, the so-called corrections. These data are provided by the HEPOS Control Center in RTCM format (2.3, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2) as well as in CMR (CMR+, CMRx) format.
Required Equipment
In order to use the HEPOS real-time services, a user will need a GPS/GNSS receiver (capable of RTK or DGPS measuring techniques) and a GPRS or GSΜ modem for connecting to the Control Center of HEPOS.
Accuracy of real-time services
Using the real-time services of HEPOS, a user can achieve cm-level accuracy by measuring at an unknown point for a few seconds only.
HEPOS POST-PROCESSING SERVICES
HEPOS post-processing services can provide very high positioning accuracy. For determining coordinates in post-processing mode, the user measures with a geodetic GPS/GNSS receiver at the unknown points. Afterwards, he processes his observations together with reference station data from HEPOS, for estimating the coordinates of the unknown points. This processing takes place in the office, after the measurements.
The post-processing services can be used for measuring using the following GPS-techniques:
- Static positioning
- Rapid-static positioning
- Stop and go
- Post-processed Kinematic positioning
For using the post-processing services, the user orderd reference station data from HEPOS. HEPOS supplies these data in RINEX. It is of particularly practical importance for the users, the capability of HEPOS to supply data not only from real but also from Virtual Reference Stations.
Required equipment
In order to use the post-processing services, the user will need a single- or dual-frequency geodetic GPS/GNSS receiver and a post-processing software.
Accuracy of post-processing services
Using the post-processing services of HEPOS, the user can exploit the highest accuracy offered by the system. Using long observation times, accuracies at the level of few millimeters can be achieved.
